Talk to any fisherman that simply has an interest in saltwater fishing and they will tell you (whether they have been there or not) that the Bahamas is home to some of the largest bonefish in the world. A glance at a map reveals that Andros has more bonefish habitat than any other island of the Bahamas and the island of Mangrove Cay is smack in the middle of it all. The mystique of this area of Andros is held in the ever-consistent opportunity to cast a fly to the “ghost of the flats”, with good fish landed every week.

Close enough to the United States to have all of the creature comforts, yet far enough away from the masses to allow total relaxation within hours of arrival.

Mangrove Cay Club was developed by a team who know fishing and has operated lodges in the Bahamas before – we have had the advantage of learning from others’ mistakes and successes. We also enjoy the support and thirty-three years experience of the Club’s exclusive agents Frontiers International.

Our vision was to develop more comfortable accommodations, finer quality meals, more attentive service and more attention to detail than had ever been seen in Andros before.  Who says one has to give up comfort to experience this fishery?

Thus, our whole goal was to make keen anglers very comfortable. While we proudly believe we have accomplished this, we do no pretend to be a resort for non-fishers, unless they are interested in local culture and content to relax in quiet comfort, perhaps snorkelling or kayaking with the local dive centre.
